Bajau and Saluan adaptation study data

This dataset includes whole genome sequencing data from 93 Bajau and Saluan individuals that were used in the Ilardo et al 2018 study on adaptation to diving in Sea Nomads. Sequencing libraries were built using the TruSeq Nano DNA Library Preparation Kit on an Illumina NeoPrep instrument. Each pool was sequenced 125 Paired-End over one or two lanes on the Illumina HiSeq2500 (version 4 chemistry). Samples were sequenced to an average depth of 5x.

The data is available to all researchers who which to use the data, for non-commercial purposes, to gain a deeper understanding of the demographic history of the Bajau and/or to identify possible genetic adaptations to a marine-dependent lifestyle.

The data is available to all researchers who which to use the data, for non-commercial purposes, to gain a deeper understanding of the demographic history of the Bajau and/or to identify possible genetic adaptations to a marine-dependent lifestyle. All non-commercial researchers at accredited research institutions will receive access to the data upon signing a transfer of materials agreement agreeing to these conditions. We require a CV from researchers wanting access to ensure they are at an accredited research institution. We also require them (and the signing official of their institution) to sign the transfer of materials agreement stating the data will only be used for the purposes described above, which were also stated in the informed consent, and not to use it for commercial purposes.

Studies are experimental investigations of a particular phenomenon, e.g., case-control studies on a particular trait or cancer research projects reporting matching cancer normal genomes from patients.
