Access to the Maastricht Irritable Bowel syndrome microbiome project data

Within the Microbiome project of the Maastricht Irritable Bowel Syndrome (MIBS) cohort, 202 of clinically diagnosed and deeply phenotyped IBS patients, as well as 134 healthy controls have been analsyed. The project is funded by the Division Gastroenterology-Hepatology of Maastricht University Medical Center+ and the Top Institute Food and Nutrition in the Netherlands. The primary goals of the MIBS cohort include to study the pathophysiology of IBS and to identify relevant subgroups of IBS patients with common phenotypical and genotypical characteristics, which may facilitate patient selection for targeted therapy. The project team of the MIBS cohort is willing to consider applications from third party researchers for access to the anonymized sequence data generated by the project. Access to the MIBS microbiome project data will be granted to qualified researchers for approved use and will be governed by the provisions laid out in the informed consent of the MIBS cohort, the Data Access Procedure and the terms of the Data Transfer Agreement. A qualified researcher refers to a senior investigator who is employed or legitimately affiliated with an academic, non-profit or government institution and who has a track record in the field. Access to project data is available by application to the Maastricht IBS cohort Project Data Access Committee. Access is conditional upon availability of data and on signed agreement by the researcher(s) and the responsible employing institution to abide by the policies and conditions related to publication, data ownership, data return, intellectual property rights, data disposal, ethical approval, confidentiality and commercialization referred herein.
